Autoimmune Diseases
Autoimmune diseases are increasing around the world, but especially in developed
countries with the so-called Western Diet. Patients who seek conventional treatment
inevitably realize that their doctors do not offer any hope of a cure but only palliative
care, and that over time the side effects of the powerful drugs they are given can
be as bad or worse than the symptoms of the disease. Indeed, many patients present
at Paracelsus Klinik on six or more pharmaceutical drugs.
From the standpoint of Biological Medicine, autoimmune diseases always involve deep-seated
toxicity and digestive weakness, often with food sensitivities and disturbance foci.
The underlying causes can be reversed and the patient generally shows quick improvement.
Rheumatoid arthritis – The standard of care in conventional medicine for
this painful condition is a regime of drugs that offer little beyond temporary symptom
relief, and over time exacerbate the patient’s condition. Once in our care, patients
usually experience dramatic improvement, with pain relief, increase in motion, and
weaning off their prescription drugs within one to three weeks. Most experience
continuous improvement over a period of years, though their joint damage is usually
irreversible. Importantly, we address the intestinal flora imbalance, food allergies,
toxic load, disturbance foci and fungal infections almost always present with this
disease.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) – This tragic disease nearly always has its roots
in toxicity and disturbance foci. The detoxification regime is therefore crucial,
as are our anti-inflammatories, followed by dietary changes. We consider a reduction
in symptoms and arresting the progress of the disease to be a victory. In many cases
we see a reversal of the condition but this is not typical. Long-term success requires
long-term follow-up, but our outcomes still compare very favorably to those of conventional
medicine.
Thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s Disease and Grave’s Disease) - Even conventional
medicine now recognizes a dimension of autoimmune response in both forms of thyroid
disease, Hashimoto’s Disease (hypothyroidism) and Grave’s Disease (hyperthyroidism).
From the perspective of Biological Medicine, both conditions are hormonal imbalances
that are the long-term result of toxicity and digestive weakness.
Psoriasis – Although psoriasis is an autoimmune disease in its final expression,
this is clearly the result of toxicity and digestive weakness, and it responds well
to our methods. Besides detoxification and digestive strengthening, restoring alkalinity,
eliminating food allergies and reducing inflammation are key.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) – Interestingly, conventional
medicine is coming around to the point of view that COPD is an autoimmune disease.
The disease does not get much press, but is the sixth highest cause of death in
the world. It’s highly related to toxicity and disturbance foci. It responds well
to our methods, especially detoxification and anti-inflammatory measures.
